Using personal experiences, emotions and movement styles to inform your work, you will learn how to incorporate these experiences into your own choreography for performance.
This workshop includes a combination of solo, duet and group work (including some contact improvisation). Through this you will learn how to respond to your own experiences and how this can help you in your choreography, responding naturally to the presence of others in the rehearsal and performance space. We will also explore how to move in ‘real’ spaces with furniture.
The workshop will focus on the process of choreography, the approach is gentle, relaxed and fun. Participants often find the workshop helps them to explore their own lives and can be significant in influencing the direction of their lives as well as performance!
Organic Choreography is an approach which was developed by Thea and has been used internationally in performance and teaching for over 10 years.
