You will have learned after doing this workshop:
Students will acquire some basic contemporary dance vocabulary and skill. The exercises are designed to improve co-ordination, strength, flow of movement and musicality. Students will learn a basic body awareness and knowledge of alignment to prevent injury and to improve posture.

What materials/equipment you need to bring to be able to do this workshop:
Comfortable, loose fitting clothes (eg. jogging bottoms and vest top) and socks.

Content of this workshop is:
This course is designed as an introduction to contemporary technique. It will combine a warm-up; focusing on correct body alignment and clear articulation of joints, leading to more developed movement phrases that focus on weight and flow. The course encourages the dancer to begin to find a sense of freedom in movement, whilst maintaining corrected body alignment.
