With his background as a Lutheran pastor Andy will give a short insight in the basic elements of liturgy –an old word for the structure and beauty of a service or worship session. The sources of the tradition are deep and wonderful and knowing them gives us a clearer insight in what helps people to draw nearer into God´s presence. The second and third session will lead into the specific celtic elements we can add to our services to make them more earthy and mystic: an awareness of the benefits of nature and art, a trinitarian view onto texts and prayers, a poetic approach to the language we perform and last but not least the rituals being used. Within all the sessions and especially in the last one celtic chants and music will open our hearts. Jeanine Noyes, songwriter and church musician from Toronto, will teach us quite a few Iona Tunes (Iona is the centre for celtic spirituality in lower Scotland) and Andy has written a whole mass of celtic chants. –It will be great fun!
