An appreciation of the skills required for effective public speaking. 2. A development of personal ability to prepare and deliver short talks. What materials/equipment you need to bring to be able to do this workshop: Students need to bring a 3 minutes talk, or 3 minutes of a talk, that they have written and learned. It can be a sermon, a sales presentation, a stage introduction to an act or a song, or a classroom lecture, etc. Other important things a participant should know to be able to do this workshop: Recognising that public speaking can be stressful and disturbing, we will aim in this workshop for an atmosphere of encouragement and positive criticism. The content of this workshop is: This workshop will consist of a practical presentation of factors that contribute to effective public speaking, along with exercises for practice. In particular we will cover voice, posture and gesture. It will be followed by student presentation of prepared work with feedback.
