Ruth Hughes

Ruth Hughes. BA (Hons) Dance Theatre, PGCE (Secondary). Ruth trained as a dancer at LABAN and went on to do her teacher training at Brighton University.

Ruth has been a dancer/teacher with Springs Dance Company since1997. She has also danced for Marina Collard and Suzannah West Dance Company and has worked as a dancer in research and development for Ginger Dance Theatre and the Choreographic Lab (1999).

Between 1997 and 1998, Ruth taught Dance at Hextable Secondary School up to A-level. Other UK teaching venues include Brighton University, the University of Hertfordshire, Lewisham College and at LABAN. Ruth also trained teachers for JC2000, the Millennium Arts Festival for schools.

She was appointed Artistic Director of Springs Dance Company in May 2003.
