Zsuzsanna Tõrök

Zsuzsanna Tõrök (1959), Hungarian, living in Budapest. Sociologist and jurist, longest practice in the field of social policy. Starting this practice with mental aid work, than changing to the public administration, first at municipal afterwards at national level. At municipal level working 3 years as a department leader of social affaires for the 22nd District Municipality, other 4 years for the Castle District Municipality of Budapest.

Committed to the idea of productive social policy, and putting this idea into practice at the municiplity. (The core of this idea is to build upon the personal responsibility and empowerment – a new stream after the decades of paternalism.) Leaving the municipal level worked 4 years for the Ministry of Labour and Social Affaires, including 2 years work in the national management of the Structural Funds after the EU accession of Hungary.

Titled „senior civil servant” from 2002. Member and expert of the International Platform for Equal Opportunities of EZA.

-Cultural dialogue is needed, as Cultural Diversity will benefit from safe work and health, lifelong learning and proper financial provisions, like pension plans.
