Francis Mean

Francis Méans artworks (oil-paintings, etchings, jewellery and recently also sculptures in bronze) are sold since 1978 all over the world. They are represented at the most important artfairs in the world by international publishers and  bought by national and international companies.

Although he always tries out new ways of working, he stays someone with his own style. Through the years his work became more explosive, colourful and passionate.

In 2006 he’s got the public prize for his monumental artwork ‘Noah’s Ark” in Oud Heverlee (B). This was the moment to take up the challenge to work with the third dimension. He now makes personages in bronze that represent joy of life and the art of living from day to day. The colourful frame or background are substantially part of the work. They remind us that Francis Méan is in the first place an artist-painter and that colours are very important in his creations. They are the smile of his art-painting, the refreshment of his sculptures.
