Andy Lang
Celtic harp, songpoetry and praise.
“Highlander”, “music magician”, “the incarnate irish ballad” – these are names the press has found for songpoet and ordained Lutheran vicar Andy Lang, who has touched the hearts of his audience with his “spiritual music between mystic and ecstasy” (Fürther Nachrichten). His “exorbitant concerts” evoke “hormonal hurricanes”, “magical songs between heaven and earth” and “a mystic world of sounds”.
His heavenly instrument, his sensitive vibrations and the ambience of old churches and castles turn his concerts into spiritual celebrations for ears and eyes, inspired by the beauty of God.
The character of his performance is created by an intense contact to the audience and an authentic athmosphere of his world of sound. The quality of his concerts is described by the press e.g.: Andy Lang evokes hormonal hurricanes. With each single note he seems to breath out his soul. That`s emotion and energy! – a concert, that became an unforgettable experience with its vibrations and sounds!” (Nordbayrischer Kurier)
Andy performs solo, with his band or with the fascinating dancer Anne Devries
He describes his musical vision with these words: “The spiritual secret of my music are the people listening. Out of their hopes, dreams, visions and longings my world of sound gets its depth and meaning. They are the well, from which joy and beauty streams.” Andy offers a variety of workshops, where his two professions – musician and theologian - meet: “Diving into the beauty of liturgy –new ways of praise”, “Be a blessing - experiences with blessing rituals” and “celtic spirituality”.
With his wife Corien, and his two little kids Arthur and Kira Andy lives in Franconia/Germany, where he has converted the old barn of his Great Grand father into a celtic concert barn offering space for concerts, sessions, workshops and liturgical festivals.
